LiveArgyll have widely recognised hall and theatre venues in Oban and Dunoon. Both have a full calendar of live events in all areas ranging from live rock bands to ballet productions, all requiring different levels of technical production.
Our Halls and Theatre volunteers will assist in the delivery of live performance, theatre, music and art activities within the Halls and Theatres in Oban and Dunoon. We are looking for volunteers who have either previous technical experience of working in a theatre background, or are actively working towards a career in theatre technical production. Tech Buddies will share IT skills by helping LiveArgyll library customers who struggle to use computers or the internet to gain IT knowledge and skills. You don’t have to be an expert, just be able to show people how to use a computer on a day-to-day basis (for example, internet shopping, accessing email, using Microsoft word etc.). The support you provide will be on a one to one basis, although there may also be opportunities to lead IT support sessions for small groups. We require tech buddies to be a minimum of 16 years old.

Bookbug is a national initiative in partnership with the Scottish Book Trust. Sessions are free, friendly and fun-filled for parents and carers to enjoy with babies, toddlers and preschoolers involving song, stories and rhymes, encouraging mums, dads and carers to sing and share stories with children from birth. Children love these interactive sessions.
The Bookbug sessions help improve children’s speech, language and brain development, along with social and emotional skills. We require Bookbug volunteers to be a minimum of 18 years old.
