The purpose of this role is to assist library staff to support younger children with a range of events and activities. We require junior volunteers to be a minimum of 14 years old.

Your time commitment will be:

volunteer hours will vary depending on your availability and the events/activities being delivered in your local library

Your involvement will be:

helping at library events and activities
being a Reading Buddy
planning games and carrying out activities with young children
showing children that reading is fun and rewarding

Your opportunity is:

Your training will include:

a comprehensive induction with on-going training and support

The skills we are looking for are:

being reliable, creative, kind and love reading books
having some computer knowledge
enjoying spending time with younger children
