The purpose of this role is to assist library staff to support younger children with a range of events and activities. We require junior volunteers to be a minimum of 14 years old.
Your time commitment will be:
- volunteer hours will vary depending on your availability and the events/activities being delivered in your local library
Your involvement will be:
- helping at library events and activities
- being a Reading Buddy
- planning games and carrying out activities with young children
- showing children that reading is fun and rewarding
Your opportunity is:

Your training will include:
- a comprehensive induction with on-going training and support
The skills we are looking for are:
- being reliable, creative, kind and love reading books
- having some computer knowledge
- enjoying spending time with younger children
